Frequently Asked Questions

What are the requirements to sign up?

We do not require students to have any prior knowledge in financial literacy. We cover all concepts in a manner that is easy to understand so no one is left behind. We do, however, expect all students to have an interest in learning the topics we cover and should be able to do basic math (calculators are provided) and read at the level of the group.

Who is going to teach my child?

We recruit college students to instruct the students. After extensive background checks, the college students go through a week-long training, where they learn what and how to teach your student. Otherwise, your student will be taught by one of our very own Wealthy Habits employees.

You will receive the names and bios of your child's instructors in an email just before the program begins.

Disciplinary Issues?

Disciplinary issues will be handled on a “three strike” policy with students being asked to leave the program at the third strike without a refund. Please be sure to discuss your expectations for behavior with you student.

My child is 14 years old. Which class should I choose?

Our enrollment process separates children by age in order to ensure all students are comfortable. If you have a child that is on the cusp, please consider their level of maturity, not their level of understanding regarding personal finance.

As long as you feel that your student is mature and will be more comfortable with the older group. Otherwise, please place your student with the younger group.

I just picked a program. Will I receive a reminder/ confirmation email?

You will receive a confirmation email shortly after payment has been processed. You will receive a second email the week before your chosen program begins. That email will contain all the basic information on pick-up/drop-off locations and procedures.

When should I drop off my child?

Unless you have requested and paid for extended care, you must drop your student off no earlier than 30 minutes prior to the start of the program.

Will there be any breaks?

Students are given a 30 to 45-minute break halfway through the day for lunch along with periodic 10-minute breaks throughout the day. The day consists of activities, games and group projects that break up the day.

Is lunch provided?

No. Please provide a bagged lunch for your student for each day of the program.

What is the point of Moola? What happens if my child wins?

Throughout all Wealthy Habits programs, students compete for Moola, which serves as our reward system. At the end of the program, the student who has earned the most Moola wins a $50 investment into an investment account of you and your child will need to open.

Will my child bring home any of the course materials?

During our programs, students are given workbooks or packets that contain all the essential handouts and information for the program. Encourage him/her to bring it home at the end of the program.

My child is too young for these programs, but I want to start teaching him/her now! Do you know of any other resources I could use?

Absolutely! Visit EconEdLink online for loads of cool resources for kids of all ages.
